Director of Youth Services
Amanda started working with Actualize Behavior Alternatives in 2020. She began as a part-time BCBA while continuing her 19-year career as a Special Education Teacher. Amanda ended up leaving teaching in 2022 to work full-time with Actualize. She truly believes in the agency and the work they are doing.
She received her undergraduate degree in Elementary Education (preK-6th) with a concentration in Mathematics. She then returned to higher education to pursue a graduate degree in Special Education. After years of teaching, Amanda returned to school and obtained her M.A. in Special Education: Intervention Specialist, Applied Behavior Analysis Emphasis.
One of the most valuable lessons Amanda has learned from the school of hard knocks is that it is ok not to have all the answers and to ask for help. Some of the best life lessons come from struggles and learning from others.
If Amanda could choose any superpower, it would be the ability “to know you’re in the good old days before you’ve actually left them.” -Andy Bernard
In her personal time, you can most often find Amanda spending time with her family, listening to and playing music, or hanging out with her two Boston Terriers, Stiffy and Muffin.
